No surprise! Crypto investment scheme FaviTrade vanished!

We warn about unregulated brokers and investment schemes every day. Most of them are scams launched with the intention to defraud. In many cases, the scammers use Trustpilot to make themselves look reputable with fake ratings and reviews. Like FaviTrade. The crypto investment scam maintained a 4-star rating on Trustpilot. However, all 5-star reviewers were first-time reviewers and most likely the scam's boiler room agents. It's now gone with the victims' money. The website is offline!

Dear victims! Please let us know more about the vanished investment scam WorldMarkets!

The WorldMarkets investment scam (www.worldmarkets.com) has been active since 2019 and has probably harmed tens of thousands of customers since then. The scam has been facilitated by illegal payment processors in a wide range of jurisdictions. In March 2021, the German regulator BaFin issued a Cease-and-Desist Order against FAD Berlin Consult UG, one of the illegal payment processors of WorldMarkets. However, the scam was online until a few weeks ago. Let us do some forensic work together.

Another warning against Panteras Capital crypto investment scheme!

We issued a warning against the Panteras Capital crypto scheme a few weeks ago. The crypto scheme is operated and controlled by three Austrian citizens, Joachim Busch, Felix Thurn, and Peter Waiglein. The company was incorporated in June 2021 as PTN Capital PLC and later renamed. It offers some crypto investment plans but does not have any authorization. The Austrian FMA and the German BaFin have issued warnings against the Panteras Capital scheme.

Interesting! The Citadel Case with Cannabis Health meme shares

In Nov 2021, BaFin issued the first warning against Citadel LLC and PenteTrade24, banning the public sale of shares of the bankrupt Swiss Cannabis Health AG via the meanwhile suspended website Citadel Securities. A second BaFin warning followed on 6 Jan 2022. While the US-registered Pente Management LLC operates the online retail broker PenteTrade24, Citadel LLC is the well-known Chicago-based hedge fund; Citadel Securities is their brokerage arm.

As expected! Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmer found guilty of investment fraud

In California, a federal jury found Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder, guilty of investment fraud. She was charged with nine counts of wire fraud, and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud under an indictment brought 3 ½ years ago. The jury convicted her on four of 11 charges of investment fraud. Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years. However, the 12 jurors failed to reach a verdict on three counts related to investors and were found not guilty of four charges relating to defrauding the public.
